1 Week, 7 days, 168 Hours, 10,080 Minutes, 604,800 Seconds

Three months ago I packed my bags and started a journey of a lifetime. I left everything I knew behind to turn my dreams into a plan and in the end I got more out of this trip than I could have ever imagined. Looking back on all of my expereinces here simply blows my mind. Australia is no longer a destination for me...it turned into my home. I am now leaving this place in just one week and a part of me will always live here in hopes of returning one day to pickup where I left off. I have done my best in sharing all of my experiences but I know that the people who have enjoyed this journey with me are the only ones who can really understand what this trip has been like. I appreciate all of the support and help I have had in making this dream come true. Next Sunday April 24th, 2011 I will board a plane in Brisbane and leave the one place on earth I never though I would get to experience and head to New Zealand for a weeks worth of exploring and crazy adventures. I am making the best out of these last two weeks of my life changing adventure...living each moment to the fullest and ending this trip with a bang!

Byron Bay with the Girls

Today me an my roommates headed to Byron Bay for a day of shopping and relaxing on the beach! It was fun going around to all of the stores for what is probably our last time. It is crazy to think this is our second to last Friday in Australia and everything that was once our daily routines is turning into our lasts. It is a bitter sweet topic for us all.

Our favorite pizza place in Byron Bay :)

After shopping we headed to the beach where we learned to surf for some fun in the sun. We layed out and walked along the beach that over looked the light house and Julian Rocks...both places we have visited.

The Light house is on the peak

More sand art

Soaking up the sun :)

I love how the beaches always has rocks to climb on :)

The hardest part about leaving this place is going to be not knowing when I will be able to come back. The Lennox Head, Ballina, and Byron Bay area here in Australia has become my home. I feel like it is apart of me that is hard to explain to others but I so desperately want to share it with everyone! My heart will forever be in Australia <3

Shenanigans in the Rainforest

Wildlife Biology is turning into a pretty fun class...so far we have had a three day weekend field trip to Woody Head, cancelled class, one class lecture that got out 2 hours early, and today's class was a field trip to the Border Rangers and Nimbin! Not to mention...next week is our final class and all we have to do is a presentation :) Loving my Aussie classes!

On the way to the Border Rangers today we stopped off in Nimbin for some lunch...were warned...yet again to stay away from the cookies. As usual...some didn't listen and turned the actual field trip into quite the adventure. Here are some pictures of Nimbin...sorry about all the quote pictures but you all know that I love quotes :)
Nimbin

This was the ceiling at the Nimbin Museum!

After that we headed to the Border Rangers National Park for some bird watching, hiking, and amazing views! It was a pretty enjoyable day spend in the gorgeous rain forest and searching for wildlife.

Our first hike of the day

The Trail

This was a shocking tree...literally-it shocks you if you touch it and we were told it hurts really bad...no one tried

Lookout point...in the back ground you can see Mt. Warning!!! ah yeah...I hiked that! :)

Lookout number 2

The trail...the lookout was very cloudy so I didn't get a good picture

Final hike of the day

Lots of wildlife along the way!
