Kiwi Country Update

After a night in a real bed we were all well rested and ready to start our day. We were on the road heading to Franz Glacier by 9am. This time it was a car of three (those of us doing the ice climbing). The others left later in the day and went off to Fox Glacier for a base walk on the glacier. The entire drive was full of spectacular views and scenery that even photographs can’t capture the true beauty.

First snow!

Destination has been Reached!!!!
Most of the trip was spent driving in the mountains on twisting roads with tight turns and one lane bridges. It was pretty fun to drive through (safely but quickly). Along the way we stopped to get coffee, gas, and to take pictures. We even took a little break in a small town to pick up some cheap sweats and coats for the ice climb tomorrow. Good think I'm so little...I shopped in the kids section and spent half the money!
We eventually made it to Franz Glacier around 4:30pm and immediately double checked our reservations for the climb in the morning. Once we did that we explored the town and checked into our hostel. Once of the guys were nice enough to pay 100% for the hostel since it has his idea to stay in one instead of the van.

Room 18 AGAIN!
By this time we were all starving so we hit up the best place in town for some din din. The Landing was the name of the restaurant and bar. It was decently priced and the food was delicious! I had a mountain of nachos. My favorite part about the restaurant was the drink menu. They changed the names of a few drinks to fit the area. For example the drink sex on the beach was named sex on a glacier. We found this quit amusing so the guys ordered one for me as a thank you for driving all day.

Sex on a Glacier. . .? haha

Table 18. . .now this must be our lucky number!

Sex on a Glacier and Desert! yummm

The boys got me sex on a glacier for driving all day :)

Delicious!
Waking up bright and early tomorrow for ice climbing...then its off to Queenstown for sky diving (if the weather permits).
