They are DEAD!

Last night we had a bonfire for one of the students birthdays...at the bonfire the guys from cabin 4 played a few pranks...first they put crabs in a cereal box in another guys cabin and then they brought the crabs to the fire and dumped them right behind me!!!! When I got back to the cabin I barricaded the door so no one could put stuff in my room...and good thing I did lol because later that night after everyone was heading to bed the guys snuck into our cabin and unleashed more crabs!
One by the toilet...

and one in the Shower!

No worried...I caught them and the boys will pay!
We also woke up at 5:45 to witness our first Australian Sunrise and along the way we say a wallaby...I didn't get a picture because it was very quick! but none the less it was a sight to see :) ...here are a few sunrise pictures!

There were some clouds today but I'm sure I will see many more Australian sunrises and get some better pictures!

The update on life in Australia!

We all live in small cabins that have a kitchen, living room, front porch, two bed rooms, and a bathroom...there are four of us that live together. The cabins are so nice...however, we do not have airconditioning so our days are usually spent on the beach or in lake cooling off and the evenings are slightly cooler with a light breeze :)

My Home for the next three months! Cabin 8

My room :)...sorry its a little messy
Living room and Kitchen!

The cool thing about Lake Ainsworth is that it is surrounded by tea trees that turn the water a brown color and enrich the water with all the nutrience tea has. It is suppose to be good for your hair and skin!

wild life :)

Tasting the Tea leaves!!! Yummmm

The beach is a white beach that is literally two min away from our front door! My roomates and I have already walked along the beach and took many pictures of the amazing views that we get to enjoy for the next three months! It is still sureal to us all and is hard to fathom still being here in a week! The animals and wild life here is also very crazy and new to us, we have seen jellyfish, crabs, frogs, bearded dragons, geicos, lots of different birds and my least favorite...snakes.
roomies on the beach!

beautiful waves

The first crab of the trip! This crab was literally running in circles...all we wanted was a picture and then the crab was swept away with the tide

JELLY FISH!!!! no worries the tentacles were already gone...the ones we have to stay away from are the blue ones and we see those a lot as well!
We also made a trip to the grocery store for the first time and spent almost $300 AUD for the four of us...but the trip was fun and next week we will only have to pick up a few essentials.

On a different note...classes start on Monday and I only have classes on Monday and Thursday! for the first five weeks at least...looks like ill have a lot of time to surf and dive!!! We are also looking into weekend trips such as rock climbing and hang gliding...along with our class trips and group weekend trips to places such as Sydney!

Finally Made It!!!

I made it...my dreams are coming true! The plane rides were long and exhausting however, the 13 hour flight into Auckland New Zealand was the easy one...we got dinner and breakfast served to us and T.V.s on the back of each chair equipped with free movies, games, music, and much more! I must have ate something at the LA airport that didn't go well with my tummy, before take off to New Zealand I gave the flight attendants a little clean up..but they gave me ginger ale and from there on out I was fast asleep...I even missed dinner!

Our Plane to New Zealand!

our first view of Australia!!!!!

On the bus heading to Lennox Head!!!

We landed in Brisbane today around ten am Brisbane time and got to our cabins at Lake Ainsworth around four pm Lennox Head time...same as Sydney. After unloading the bus we all ran to the beach to relax in the Australian sun, play soccer, and body surf...caught a jellyfish in my hand (not on purpose and it didn't sting me...it was tiny) and found a few on the beach as well. The cabins are amazing...two rooms and a bathroom a kitchen with stainless steel and white appliances...already stocked with everything but food! The beach is a two min walk from our front door and you can always hear the ocean and the hum of nature! We also had our first barbie with some of the local teachers and Lake Ainsworth faculty! Ill be uploading pictures as soon as possible but right now I'm enjoying my first few days of relaxation before classes start on Monday!
